After my recent visit to Namibia, I asked Riaan to paint me a landscape of the well-known Spitzkoppe. Having this painting in my living room is like visiting this favourite spot daily. The technique, light and composition give life to my experience over and over.

My kunswerk van Riaan Prinsloo is vir my ’n skatkis. Elke keer as ek daarna kyk, voel dit asof ek asem kan skep. Ligter, lewendiger en vryer. Die toneel van die Waterberg raak iets diep binne my. Dit is een van my gunsteling plekke, en nou leef dit elke dag saam met my in my huis. Hierdie skildery bring nie net skoonheid nie, maar ook ’n gevoel van rus en vryheid wat moeilik is om te beskryf.

I grew up at the coast, but been in Gauteng for nearly 16 years. This painting is my daily reminder of how beautiful our coastline and sunsets are with the dream of someday moving back again. Thank you Riaan for an absolute stunning painting

Riaan's art is inspiring as I have seen his art grow from where he just started and how he has grown to capture the feeling and spirit of the landscape. He painted a scene that I photographed near Prince Albert and capturing the scene on film was challenging. The rendition on canvas captures more of the feeling of the moment than the photo did, and I live the moment daily on my wall.
