FAK VTM permanente uitstalling vanaf Februarie 2025

Riaan Prinsloo has firmly established himself as one of our gallery’s very best-selling artists, thanks to his exceptional ability to capture the raw beauty and atmosphere of the South African landscape on canvas.
His paintings strike a delicate balance between classical realism and a dreamlike, impressionistic atmosphere. It is precisely this unique combination that has made his work immensely popular with both local art enthusiasts and international collectors.
Whether portraying the rich, dusty hues of the Bushveld or the dramatic interplay of light and shadow across our vast open plains, Riaan’s paintings are far more than visual representations of a landscape. They are an invitation to experience moments of tranquillity, nostalgia, and freedom. Each work reflects a profound respect for the natural world, bringing the serenity of the South African landscape directly into the viewer’s living space.

Landskap uitstalling Riaan Prinsloo
Pro Frame Van Gogh Art Gallery
9 April 2026 – 11 Mei 2026
Landscape Exhibition – Riaan Prinsloo
Pro Frame Van Gogh Art Gallery
9 April 2026 – 11 May 2026
There are exhibitions that you visit, and then there are exhibitions that leave you speechless. Riaan Prinsloo’s Landscape exhibition at Pro Frame Van Gogh Art Gallery was one such experience—a journey through the soul of South Africa’s landscapes, where each painting conveyed far more than a beautiful scene.
From the very first moment, the artworks created a profound sense of tranquillity and wonder. The gentle light, sweeping plains, mountains, and trees awakened memories of places we have visited, as well as places we still long to discover. It was as though each canvas invited us to slow down, reconnect with nature, and rediscover the beauty found in life’s simplicity.
The lasting impression was a deeper appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us every day, and the realization that landscapes are far more than places. They are keepers of memories, vessels of emotion, and symbols of hope.

Riaan Prinsloo exhibited at Gallery Michael Heyns in Weavind Park, Pretoria, as part of Die Eerste 3, a focused exhibition presenting his work within a curated gallery setting.

’n Perspektief – ’n belewenis van Riaan Prinsloo
Uitstalling 5-26 Julie 2026
Prinsloo se landskappe is eg Suider-Afrikaans.
A Perspective – An Experience of Riaan Prinsloo
Exhibition 5-26 July 2026
Riaan Prinsloo was invited to exhibit some of his works at Michael Heyns Gallery. In an almost shy—perhaps even surprised—manner, he agreed! And so, he is now exhibiting here at 191 Osborne Lane.
The enthusiasm with which he speaks about his creative process, the origins of his landscapes, and the layers of acrylic paint and brushstrokes that bring each subject to life is an absolute delight.
As a person, I found him to be engaging, personable, and well organised. His character and his artistry are so closely intertwined that it is an absolute pleasure for a gallery to work with him.
Prinsloo’s landscapes are unmistakably Southern African. They depict bushveld, Karoo, and coastal scenes with honesty and authenticity. By often placing the focal point to the left, he allows the viewer’s eye to wander freely without being overwhelmed by a single subject. Storms and stillness, open plains, winding dirt roads, bushveld trees, and baobabs are all captured in a distinctive Prinsloo style that will undoubtedly continue to enrich our artistic landscape in the years to come.
Gallery Michael Heyns looks forward to welcoming Prinsloo back time and again, and we eagerly anticipate a long and exciting artistic career for this talented artist from Pretoria Moot.
